Recently, the Ministry of Education announced both national and provincial lists of first-class undergraduate programs in 2019. Special Education of Quanzhou Normal University was selected on the national list while 10 other programs were on the provincial list, including Primary Education, Chinese Language and Literature, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Human Geography and Urban-Rural Planning, Science and Technology of Electronic Information, Computer Science and Technology, Chemical Engineering and Technology, Food Science and Engineering , E-commerce, and Musicology. As to the number of courses shortlisted, QNU came out in front among its counterparts in Fujian province.
It is reported that the Double Ten Thousand Plan is carried out under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, the conference of national higher education in new era, and various official documents concerning the construction of top-quality higher education. The Initiative aims to build in three years from 2019 to 2021 around 20,000 first-class undergraduate programs, with 10,000 at national and provincial levels respectively. Among the first batch are 4,054 national-level and 6,210 provincial-level first-class undergraduate programs.
